Polymerization originators are applied in order to start the crosslinking reaction. In higher temperatures the originators perform their function unaided, in room temperature it is necessary to add accelerators.
It is preferable to use preaccelerated/accelerated resins (both resins and gel coats), which contain the polymerization accelerator mixed in. Accelerated resins contain only polymerization originator (commonly and mistakenly called the hardening agent).
